About PickMyUtility

PickMyUtility is an independent comparison site for retail electricity and natural gas offers in deregulated Ohio β€” the sister site of PickMyPower (Texas). One job: help you see what every supplier offer would actually cost at your usage, measured against your utility's default rate, in English or Spanish, without making you decode marketing.

Where the data comes from

Every offer you see comes from the State of Ohio's official comparison database β€” the public record where certified suppliers post their residential offers. We refresh it every day, and every comparison page shows the date its data was last updated. Supplier contact details in our directory come from the same official disclosures. We don't accept payment to list, hide, or reorder any offer.

How we rank offers

By estimated monthly cost at the usage level you choose β€” rate Γ— usage plus any monthly fee β€” not by advertised rate alone. For electricity, we also compute each offer's savings (or extra cost) versus your utility's current Price to Compare, the default rate you'd pay by doing nothing. Offers flagged as intro or promotional teasers are hidden by default, because a rate that expires in a month isn't a price β€” it's bait. Our guides explain all the mechanics.

Estimates are estimates: your exact bill depends on your actual usage and billing cycle. Always read an offer's terms β€” linked on every row β€” before enrolling.

How we make money

Two ways, both disclosed: advertising that appears on the site, and β€” potentially β€” referral fees if you enroll with a supplier after clicking through from here. Referral relationships never affect rankings, which are pure arithmetic on state-published offers. If a ranking ever looks wrong, the terms link on the same row is the check.
